Surrender
Released in 2018, “Surrender” is my 6th album since 2000 and first after taking time to work on smaller projects. The album is based around a number of personal themes that ended up being extremely cathartic and therapeutic to express. The album may sound a little negative to most listeners, but for me it was an overwhelmingly positive and beneficial experience which allowed me to put many things behind me.
My approach to this album was significantly different to previous albums with vocals and lyric writing taking a more integral place in the overall production. All songs had a guide vocal recorded early on and I feel this avoided some of the clutter and clashes I’ve encountered on previous songs.
