Packing time. As I only have one more brief night in Zurich, I’m going to try and put everything I need from now on, including on the flight, in my black bag. Then I shouldn’t need to open the white suitcase again. That would make this the last pack. Yay!

I managed to close my suitcase without expansion. I have about an hour until I need to check out, so time to finish my blog entry for yesterday.

It’s just started to lightly rain. Then it gets heavier with thunder and lightening. The forecast says these will be intermittent. Lucky this is a travel day, otherwise it would be a washout. Hopefully there will be a gap for me to walk to the station, otherwise I’ll need a taxi.

Check out time. They have a shuttle service to take me to the station as it’s still raining a bit.

I get to the station and grab something for lunch later. Of course, now the rain has stopped. I check the board and my train is listed. Looking good so far. About 1/2 hour to wait but I’d rather be here and ready.

I go to the platform early and discover the train is already waiting. Great. Gives me plenty of time to board. Lots of luggage space and seating.

Arrive Zurich. I find my way around fairly easily and get to the platform in good time. Train not waiting this time.

On the next train. It only takes 9 min to get to the airport. Train busier and it might have been a squeeze with luggage in 2nd class but 1st was OK. At my seat will do for such a short trip.

Checked-in to the hotel. It’s a bit of a rabbit warren to find the hotel and then to find my room, but the room is quite lush. Massive bed. No view to speak of, but this is the airport. My flight tomorrow is not super early but I decided to stay here instead of in the city just to reduce the morning stress.

I head out to The Circle which is a food and shopping precinct attached to the hotel and airport.

Back at the hotel. Didn’t find anything I wanted to buy. Might look again when I’m waiting for my flight tomorrow. On the way back I did walk through a park that is adjacent to The Circle. It’s a surprising green oasis at an airport and a nice place to hang out if you will be here for a while.
